Anyway. I've been thinking to myself.. in order to spice up this blog (and my life, admittedly), I could challenge myself a bit. Get into those writing challenges, or drawing challenges, and hey, even programming challenges. I could learn Python programming in a fun way, or just do simple programming exercises such as this.
To be honest with myself, I'm in the state where I'm looking at my friends and colleagues and thinking,'Wow, they have a lot going for them', and thinking that I'm still being that boring old me doing.. nothing. I have my life planned out (or I hope so), but I still feel intimidated and feel that hopelessness and a bit of pressure on my back.
So, yeah. Challenges. The ultimate challenge being: lucid dreaming (Since I remember what jotting down dreams were supposed to help with).
Lucid dreaming:
A lucid dream is a dream in which the sleeper is aware that he or she is dreaming. When the dreamer is lucid, he or she can actively participate in and often manipulate the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can seem extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness during the lucid dream.

Supposedly, one of the common techniques to be able to experience lucid dreaming is the ability to recall dreams. One of the ways to recall dreams, is to keep a dream journal, and write down the dream immediately when a person awakes. So for now, I will try to keep the habit of groggily waking up and trying to reach the power button on my laptop, and patiently wait for it to boot and connect to the internet.
I remember thinking it would be cool to be able to lucid dream. Which is why currently, that is the ultimate challenge.
However, baby steps and more baby steps. I'm in the midst of the exams approaching me so I do not want to dedicate my time purposely to other things than 'studying', but since I'm such a slacker, I suppose I could make my studying habits a bit more challenging.
First short term challenge: Finish my 12-week C# material (at least read over all the lecture notes) in one day, which will be tomorrow.
Reward: A sense of satisfaction and a step forward from leaving behind my procrastinating self.
Wish me luck, whoever is out there in the big world of the interwebz.
