I am hopeless
So apparently I failed yet again for regular blogging. I didn't write out my dreams each day and I certainly did not finish NaBloPoMo. Oh well. Good news is I got decent final results. Not as good as I would like, but good nevertheless. Anyway. I have a month of nothing before going on to my summer research project. Almost all of my friends are back to their home country. I've been motivating myself to exercise regularly, eat healthy, and try to cook new stuff. So far I've somewhat achieved those 3, but the 'regularly' thing definitely has a long way to go. Anyway, that's the update from me.

Lalala
I've observed a funny habit among my college friends. We like to dare each else to do something but we would never go through with it.
"Hey, eat this veggie for 10 bucks?" (one of friends hates vegetables lol)
"5 bucks for you to eat this tomato!" (I hate tomatoes)
"I dare you to say 'You're really pretty' to that waitress!"
.... And so on.

Whoops
Today I accomplished no studying. Apparently there really is no hope for me to study at home. Nothing gets done. I procrastinated the whole day through. Here's hoping I can wake up early tomorrow.
To fill in my post quota. The highlights of today was re-reading old favourite fics and discovering new ones that made my tear ducts leak. What good writing does to you..

I was lazy today
I had my dream a bit.. ready. But never got around to finishing it.
So because I'm in NaBloPoMo.. I'll post something random to fulfil my quota.
Today's entry will be about facebook.
It's seriously annoying me.. when I'm playing a game, and a person messages me on fb chat. And then the active cursor is no longer in the main window but changes to the chat window. Making me unable to continue with my game, then causing me to lose it. And not to mention how the fb chat windows do weird stuff sometimes, and makes it hard to place the cursor back into it.
Gah.

Full Of Fail
Didn't manage to finish my 2nd short challenge which was to finish my sample database exam. Could only go through half of it. After that, I could not for my life concentrate on it anymore. Duh. Oh well.
Second fail is.. well, I read something that really irritated me today. I read a note on Facebook, which was a copy paste from a forwarded e-mail. Basically, it writes down how this one woman was a director of a multinational company. She said that she neglected her family and her children paid more attention and cared more about their maid than they did to her, and that she failed the signs that lead her daughter to drugs and death due to overdose.
So in conclusion.. she said she has failed her responsibility as a wife and as a mother and warns us to prioritize according to what really is the most important.
Don't get me wrong, I did think she chose the overall course of action. Neglecting your children and not noticing something's wrong with them equals to bad parenting. However, what bothered me was how the conclusion and the comment seemed to put the onus on the woman. Which is: it is the wife's responsibility to ensure family life is OK and to look after the children. And don't get me started on comments that leaned towards "woman should know that their nature is in being a good wife and a good mother".
It's just that.. looking over your family is the responsibility of both of the parents, y'know? It's not just the woman who has to be the proper 'wife' and the proper 'mother'. It's also the guy who has to be the proper 'husband' and the proper 'father' as well. And I'm not just talking about bringing in the money to feed them. But also in times having to cook or wash the dishes or take care of households, and know what his kids are up to, when are their dentist appointments, and so on.
Therefore it irritates me that it seems like everything associated to children and family and the house is the wife's sole responsibility. And that it's a bad thing if a woman wants a career and not a life solely centered around her family.
The content in the e-mail? The woman was at fault, no doubt about it. But the conclusion should not be "women should prioriotize their family more than their work" but "people should prioritize their family more than their work".

Some moar studying
So I got the first challenge out of the way!
Done! I read over all the lecture notes.. now that I know which is where, I can go on to the next step: memorizing the content.
However, that wouldn't be my challenge for today.. the challenge today is:
2nd short challenge
Finish sample exam of my database unit
Reward: Help in memorizing the sql syntax.
Ok, so that's that.. my stomache is full, all that's left to do is to wait for my hair to dry, then I can head to campus to start doing that sample exam.
First short term challenge: Finish my 12-week C# material (at least read over all the lecture notes) in one day, which will be tomorrow.
Reward: A sense of satisfaction and a step forward from leaving behind my procrastinating self.
